Boston blind sailing
Uniting blind & visually impaired sailors with sighted guides to master the sport sailing.
What may at first seem like an impossible feat, sailing blind actually isn’t so hard. Many top sailing coaches will blindfold their students and teams to have them pay more attention to their non-visual senses. When you cannot see, you become more aware to the ‘feel’ of the boat, the heel of the boat, the power in the sails, and the ‘groove’ at the helm. Some guides refer to blind sailing as the “ultimate test of communication.”
