How to Join
Open to sailors at all levels, BBS is dedicated to strengthening access and inclusion to sailing and providing opportunities to train and participate in highly competitive regattas.
Are you visually impaired or blind and want to sail?
The BBS team includes sailors with all types of visual impairments.
Are you a sighted sailor and want to guide?
We pair our visually impaired sailors with sighted guides who have experience sailing who act as tacticians and provide on the water feedback.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
For the 2021 sailing, practice will be held twice a week:
OPEN PRACTICE begins in June and lasts through August and is held at Community Boating Inc. on the Charles River. Open practice is available to sailors of all skill levels.
ADVANCED PRACTICE begins in June and lasts through August but is reserved for sailors and guides who meet certain skill requirements and can sail at an increasingly competitive level. Advanced practice is held at Courageous Sailing Center in Charlestown.
REGATTA SCHEDULE
In the past, teams from BBS have competed in a number of regattas. Participation is determined by the sailing skills of team members and other logistical details. Competition in regattas is announced throughout the season.
